U.S. News Media has sucked longer than I thought.

Written at 10:36 pm by Tora in   |   Listening to "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed
feeling

Wow.

I’ve known the News Media has been sucking on the tits of the right for several years now but… this is too much. Even after a man killed himself they still can’t admit he was right and they’re sorry for casting him as a pariah.

Thank you for being a ratings bitch American News Media. And you wonder why we turn to other sources?

My sister says that for him to have been killed by a conspiracy theory “they’re gonna get ya” would’ve been better than suicide. To know that after all he had done to uncover the truth, no one cares and they’re never gonna. So he just gave up.

Here is what I’m talking about.

Election Night

Written at 3:08 am by Tora in   |   Listening to the voices in my head
feeling

The world sucks.

If the greatest country in the world, a country whose history is only a fraction of other powerful countries and yet is still the most radical and honorable, is stupid enough to elect a man who will run it in the ground then I almost feel it does deserve what’s coming. Almost.

I’m just so saddened that people can honestly believe Bush has done a good job. 70%+ of Bush supporters believe Saddam had WMDs. 50%+ of Bush supporters believe Saddam had tangible connections to Al Qaeda.

Where the FUCK have you people been? What planet do you live on?!!!

The most amazing thing to me is the issue of terror. Abortion and gay-marriage has scared people to the Bush side. But terror? Do you honestly believe Bush has done a good job on terror?

Forget Iraq, forget Afghanistan, forget the current “war on terror”.

Where was Bush pre-9/11?

Where was the Department of Homeland Security pre-9/11?

Where was the action on CIA intelligence that warned of it?

How dare you forget how Bush did nothing about terrorism before 9/11?

I wish I could hate this country with as much abhorrence as I hate this administration but instead I just want to cry.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Politics & Religion. Oh joy.

Written at 1:23 am by Tora in   |   Listening to Live 105.3 Political Talk
feeling

Religion scares me. Bush has scared me since before he stepped into the oval office. And this is mainly why.

Thank you, religious nuts, for believing you don’t have to do anything to take care of yourselves or those around you because the end is coming and you believe. Thank you, religious nuts, for believing God made you in his image and he loves you more than bacteria, fungi, plants, birds, fish, animals, and “his angels”. Thank you, religious nuts, for believing God made the whole universe just for the human race and that he doesn’t mind you smashing it to bits. Thank you, religious nuts, for believing your neglect for other life and the place you currently inhabit is completely justified because some day Jesus is returning. Thank you, religious nuts, for always believing your religion is the only way even though it’s divided into 30+ groups who can’t agree because everybody interprets a BOOK differently.

Thank you for not ever using logic. I wish I didn’t.

I hate the Religious Right because they terrify me. I think they should form a party called just that because let’s be honest, Bush is only half Republican, the religious half.

Humor Politics

Written at 10:31 am by Tora in   |   Listening to still a lawnmower
feeling

Ok, this is the last post before I move, I swear. Just a couple things.

1) Go to Google.com, type in “weapons of mass destruction”, and wait wait!

Click the second button, “I’m feeling lucky”. Do you see a IE: Cannot Find Server page? No, you just think you see it. Read the whole thing carefully.

I love Google.

2) Jon Stewart received a doctorate from his college, William and Mary, and gave a little speech. Humor with a dash of wisdom and politics.

It’s nice to know that my Republican cousin Jeremy watches The Daily Show almost daily. *whispers* He’s a liberal at heart, he just can’t admit it. Shhhhh.

Yes, I do hate Bush, thank you

Written at 10:10 am by Tora in   |   Listening to a lawnmower
feeling

Today is the day to move our big furniture and hopefully everything else that’s left. So I probably won’t have internet for a few days to even a week or two(I’ll be having withdrawals). So before I leave off and nobody notice my absence I have to talk politics. I watched Farenheit 9/11 last night, didn’t learn anything new, but cried and laughed a couple dozen times. I hope the people in the sold out show learned something and are properly awakened to start paying attention. “If you’re not scared, you’re not paying attention.” Napa isn’t quite as snobby and dumb as it looks.

I’ve grown up as a liberal under liberal-leaning non-activist parents. They grew up as Seventh-Day Adventists which is a truly “compassionate conservative” religion. Leave gay marriages to the states, always keep church and state separated lest the church gets screwed, and war is wrong wrong wrong because killing is a sin. But I’m sure Bush doesn’t feel he will go to hell since he didn’t actually pick up a gun for it.

Anyway, my parents are liberal in the issues but I suspect my dad’s more conservative as far as money goes. I never particularly liked politics. Politicians lie, I knew this when I was 8, so why was Clinton lying that surprising? He lied to the Supreme Court, however I don’t think he ever should have HAD to lie because it’s not the Supreme Court’s business or the country’s business for the President’s personal/family/sexual life which is in no way connected to his policies and his job. *cough* When the 2000 election came up, I started paying attention. Bush scared me and as it came to that “oh gee golly gosh, alllllll of us networks got it wrong, FOX News is right, Dubya’s the winner!” I fucking paid attention.

Farenheit 9/11 is correct on everything. Blacks haven’t forgotten the shit in Florida and neither have the Democrats. And I’m sick of hearing “it’s in the past, get over it”. When someone cheats that’s pretty fucking annoying. And when the prize is the Presidency of the United States? And if it hadn’t been Bush these past four years, how do you think our terrorism defense might have been? The Department of Homeland Security was set up by the Clinton administration to give the Bush administration a good headstart. And how was it doing before 9/11? Gee, Bush didn’t do SHIT about terrorism.

How is it wrong to kill a month old fetus inside you, for your own selfishness whatever your reasons and not wrong to kill a six year old Iraqi child for your own selfishness? Innocent lives always get caught in the crossfire of war. Or maybe even just on the “enemy lines” of war. If my whole family was killed in the invasion of our “saviors from Saddam” because they weren’t sure if they were armed, because they bombed whatever they could, you can fucking bet I would take my revenge no matter how much I’d be glad to be rid of Saddam and have a say in my government. So why were people surprised with the insurgents?

Bush has essentially fucked everything every which way and it’s too late to wish it never happened. So I can only wonder, how the hell are we going to fix this?

It’s been two months, wow..

Written at 10:14 pm by Tora in   |   Listening to "Sleepwalk" by Riche Valens
feeling

Well, I’m trying to catch up on news and politics via Tom Tomorrow and of course it’s bringing my mood down. There’s a quote I desperately want for a bumper sticker now seeing as how my grandma keeps whining about my current choice “United My Ass”. And the quote is “Don’t waive your rights with your flags.” Not as quick and angry as the other but oh well. I also like “God, save me from your followers” which I’ve seen available on a bumper sticker but for now I want something related to politics and the evil of the Bush administration.

But alas, I’m not in the mood to analyze and write something intelligent. My feet and my brain are numb from work. Ah yes, I got a job at a jewelry store downtown, Silver Sensations which my mom and I absolutely adore. I get a really good discount too. Which means we all know where my paycheck is going to go… damnit.
