Updates

feeling

Oh a couple quick things before I hit the hay ‘cuz I gotta get up early to spend the day at the Fairfield mall eating, shopping, and watching movies.

I added six (or was it seven?) new funny images to the fun stuff section, at the bottom of the list of course. I also finished the fanlisting for Louis XIV (the band) and am super pleased with the layout so take a look if only for that. Mmm red. I’m working on a website to archive my art, the old drawings I used to have displayed here, my layouts archive, and the digital art I’ve been doing in Adobe PS class. There are a couple pieces I’m in love with so where else can they be displayed. It might take me a couple weeks yet to put it up. I want it to be in databases but I’m not sure on the organization yet. Ahh and on Thursday I’ll talk about my weird week of the 16th.

New movies – Chocolate Factory?!

Written at 12:19 am by Tora in   |   Listening to "Honest Mistake" by The Bravery
feeling

Okaaaaaaay, I am now truly freaked out. Tim Burton, what the hell goes on in your head?

I’ve been watching movie trailers on Yahoo for the last 3 hours. Watched Charlie & the Chocolate Factory which surprised me as I thought the title to be used was Willy Wonka even though the new one is only based off the book. So very very odd. My sister says Johnny Depp looks eerily like Michael Jackson. He kinda does but what’s eerie is the darkness of his outfit, the wrinkles, the bouncy hair, the dark circles under his eyes, and his paleness. The Tim Burton version of course. *sigh* The music was creepy. Dunno if I can manage watching it when it comes out in July…

But other movies that look good to be out soon or later this year (lest I forget): In Good Company (Topher Grace, Dennis Quaid, I so wanna see!! why isn’t it playing near me?!), The Assassination of Richard Nixon, Hotel Rwanda, White Noise (Michael Keaton, scary, ghosts), CSA: Confederate States of America (what if the south won? hmmmm), Beautiful Boxer (January 21, a man in Thailand becomes a pro kick boxer to afford a sex change operation), Aliens of the Deep (3D Imax documentary underwater near the Mid-Ocean ridge), Hide and Seek (Robert DeNiro with scary Dakota Fanning), Imaginary Heroes (yet another twisted family drama, yay!), The Wedding Date (finally, a romantic comedy I want to see! besides B&P of course ^_^), The Pink Panther (I must admit it looks like Steve Martin will do a good job), and Batman Begins (it can’t be hard to be better than the other batman movies).

You can find out more about these movies on Yahoo.

I must remember to come back to this list throughout the year… Ack! And Shaun of the Dead came out a week ago and I didn’t know it! Needs to be in my collection.

Last week

Written at 9:33 am by Tora in   |   Listening to "Unconditional" by The Bravery
feeling

My head is hurting more than it has since Tuesday. Coughing makes it worse, yay!

So the whole story of my lovely week. Sunday and Monday my throat is feeling a little sore. I enjoy cornmeal pancakes, Jon Cusack, and Ang Lee at Karen’s Monday night. I planned to get stuff done on Tuesday: cleaning house, grocery shopping, running errands. I wake up at 8 something and my head hurts like hell. I get headaches rather often (my grandma always pities me, she’s never experienced one in her life) but this was the kind that hits you with dizziness after laying down too much (which I didn’t). The area behind my ears, under my ears, my lymph nodes, and my temple are all sore. I of course fall back asleep, anything to ignore the pain.

Super laziness, I don’t get ready for the outside world until 4, shop at Safeway for the first time (freaky), and go to the last Adobe Photoshop class of the semester to enjoy loads of cookies, carrot cake, and vegetarian pizza (I only eat cheese pizza, but this was pretty good though it was Round Table). Leave after 8 instead of 9 as I’m still ehhh. Go to work on Wednesday, not too bad. Ahh but Wednesday night?

My final is at 1pm on Thursday. The doors to Popscene open at 10pm and we were gonna leave town at 7. I go to bed Wednesday night at 11, set my alarm for 9:30. I don’t actually fall asleep until after 1am, oh joy. Ten minutes til 3am my sister wakes me up. She’s talking so loud that from the other side of the house in my mother’s room it sounds like she’s standing right next to me. It takes me 4 tries to yell “shut up”. She’s saying “it’s 7:15″ and I proceed to go to her room and say “it’s not fucking 7:15! it’s 3 in the morning!!”. She yells back drunk as hell that her car wouldn’t start and she had to walk home from Downtown Joe’s. I shouldn’t even be bitching because she has to get up earlier than me (at 7:15 apparently). Ugh.

I don’t fall back asleep until after 4 and I wake up again 3 times. Ok, so come to the final within a few minutes of being handed the test some workers on the roof started banging around and making all sorts of noise. Ah but it gets better! Being in a nice lovely stale and stifling classroom, my throat tickles. I had to step outside before I interrupted everyone else. Of course it started back up once I went back inside. So I spent a good 10 minutes just staring at my desk trying not to cough or choke. Not fun.

But the piece prize is yet to come. Thankfully, my date with Louis XIV was the same night as the christmas party for my mom’s work. Oh darn.

I apparently never finished writing this post. But what the hell, I’ll publish what’s there.

Life Sucks.

Written at 1:46 am by Tora in   |   Listening to the numbness in my ears
feeling

Of all the luck. This has been a very weird week.

My throat wants to choke me, my ears are ringing, my head is tight, my tummy is having hunger pains, and I now have to deal with a fucking shredded tire tomorrow. And tomorrow it will be because screw this, I need food and sleep.

But Louis XIV was still worth it even if they only played for 30 something minutes and tall people blocked our view of oooooh everything. Argh.

U.S. News Media has sucked longer than I thought.

Written at 10:36 pm by Tora in   |   Listening to "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed

Wow.

I’ve known the News Media has been sucking on the tits of the right for several years now but… this is too much. Even after a man killed himself they still can’t admit he was right and they’re sorry for casting him as a pariah.

Thank you for being a ratings bitch American News Media. And you wonder why we turn to other sources?

My sister says that for him to have been killed by a conspiracy theory “they’re gonna get ya” would’ve been better than suicide. To know that after all he had done to uncover the truth, no one cares and they’re never gonna. So he just gave up.

Here is what I’m talking about.

No no no sicky!

I feel like crap. My throat is sore but not real scratchy but my head hurts like hell. This can’t be! I have a final on Thursday plus a concert! And lots of work! Well the orange juice is pretty nice. Lemme go find some pills then.

Spam and Spyware

Written at 10:07 pm by Tora in   |   Listening to the voices in my head
feeling

Spam stuff has really been pissing me off the last few weeks. I was trying to catch up on manga scanlations, specifically yaoi *cough* so I would visit Tokudane who lists all the yaoi group updates. Well Tokudane uses a Cjb.net address. Every single time I went there I was getting this pop-up ad. Basically it installed WinAd (or Windows Task Ad) onto my computer. That’s not supposed to be there, trust me. Well nobody else on Mirc seemed to have it. I realized it was Cjb.net and not Tokudane because I also got it when I visited MangaProject.

So even though PC-Cillin is lovely and Ad-aware kicks totally ass, they don’t stop it from happening. Ad-aware just fixes it once it’s happened. Last week I installed Spyware Blaster and it’s totally awesome. Major California accent emphasis here. No problems visiting Cjb.net sites now, mwahahahahaa!!!!
